Jeremy Jakubowicz has been a celebrity photographer for 15 years, with an aesthetic of his own, recognisable at first glance. Based in Paris, he lives between Paris and Monaco and photographs stars wherever they need him, from Cannes to New York. On 23 October 2026, the day of the NRJ Music Awards ceremony at the Palais des Festivals, he photographed Pierre de Maere, M. Pokora, Mosimann, Naïka, Jaxstyle and Oria in the great hotels of Cannes, including the Carlton.

Publicists, agents, managers and talent teams: when your artist is due in Cannes, Jeremy is already on site, as he is for every major event on the French Riviera. Available even at the last minute, he knows the venues, the teams and the rhythm of a live television night. And when the tour moves on to Paris, Milan, New York or the other side of the world, he follows the artist.

Why work with Jeremy Jakubowicz in Cannes?

Because he has been photographing the biggest stars for 15 years, in Paris, Milan and New York as well as on the Croisette. Born in Cannes, he returns for every major event there: the NRJ Music Awards, the Cannes Film Festival, Canneseries and the city's other international events. His name is known to publicists, agents and the great hotels of the Croisette.

He knows how to behave around stars. Courteous, discreet and precise, he puts the artist at ease in a few words, directs the pose without forcing it and respects the team's time. That is why he is called back from one year to the next.

  • On site for every major event, always available. Jeremy is in Cannes during the city's major events and can step in at the last minute, with no ticket or room to book for him.
  • An address book. Agents, publicists, stylists and the great hotels of Cannes, including the Carlton, a long-standing partner: he has access to the places where artists stay and knows where to find the light, on a balcony or on a staircase.
  • Used to working with stars. Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Tom Cruise, Pedro Pascal and Eva Longoria have all been in front of his lens: he knows how to work quickly with a much-awaited personality without rushing them.
  • A recognisable style. With a background in fashion, he has built an aesthetic of his own: he takes care of the light and the outfit, and his celebrity portraits look like magazine pages rather than event photos, which is what the houses dressing the artists expect.
  • Turnaround agreed in advance. The delivery schedule is set with the artist's team according to how the images will be used: social media, press or communication for the house dressing the artist.

Pierre de Maere: a private session in his room at the Carlton Cannes

For Pierre de Maere, Jeremy shot a private session in his room at the Carlton Cannes, the hotel where he was staying, on the day of the ceremony. The Belgian singer, named Best Male Newcomer at the 2023 Victoires de la Musique, had performed the evening before at the free “Before NRJ Music Awards” concert.

Jeremy began on the balcony at sunset: the singer backlit, the Bay of Cannes and the Esterel hills behind him, golden light on the satin lapel of his double-breasted suit. He then brought the session indoors: a black-and-white silhouette against the window light, portraits in the amber light of the drapes, then, with flash, close-ups where the singer's pale gaze becomes the subject. The session continued in the hotel corridors, beneath gilded sconces and against white mouldings, with direct flash giving the series a night-time feel.

A complete series in one room and its surroundings, with no studio to set up: that is what a photographer who knows how to read a place makes possible, at the Carlton as in any palace hotel in the world. See the full series on Pierre de Maere photographed by Jeremy Jakubowicz.

Six artists photographed before the ceremony

For each artist, Jeremy looked for the setting that served the outfit and the personality. Jaxstyle, in a tuxedo, facing the bay and then backlit against a window for a more intimate portrait; he was nominated this year with Justė and Jon for “Turn The Lights Off”. Oria, in a black vinyl trench, against a white moulded wall: a plain background that leaves all the room to her laughter. Naïka full length on a flower-lined marble staircase, so that her draped cream gown reads in full. Mosimann at the foot of the same staircase, the flash catching his metal harness. M. Pokora closed the day at the hotel entrance, between wood panelling and glass doors.

That same night, two of them went home with a trophy: M. Pokora, French-language male artist of the year, and Mosimann, DJ of the year. Their portraits had been taken a few hours earlier. See also M. Pokora photographed by Jeremy Jakubowicz.

2025: Maghla, from the hotel to the red carpet

For the 2025 edition, on 31 October, Jeremy followed the streamer Maghla before the ceremony and built the series like a reportage: the hotel corridor, the garden at night, the staircase where her leather skirt swirls, the mirrored lift, then the car. The gown with its giant embroidered flower, noticed on the red carpet that night, is at the heart of every image. On stage, Maghla then presented the French-language concert of the year award with Lebouseuh.

A few months later, these portraits accompanied the announcement of her participation in Danse avec les stars on social media. One session served both the evening itself and the communication of the following weeks.
