Eva Longoria is an American actress, producer and director, born in Texas. Desperate Housewives made her famous worldwide; she then moved behind the camera, with Flamin’ Hot in 2023, and set off on CNN in search of the cuisines of Mexico, Spain and then France.

During the 79th Cannes Film Festival, Jeremy Jakubowicz took part in the shoot organised by Paris Match with Eva Longoria at the Carlton, to promote her food series Eva Longoria: Searching for France, aired on CNN in the spring. The shoot plays out in two settings. First the hotel kitchens: in a red dress and white chef’s hat on the counter, then in a chef’s jacket among the brigade, she joins in the service right up to the flambé, and the pictures look for laughter rather than poses. Then the Carlton beach: in a draped white dress, the hotel’s façade behind her and the Mediterranean ahead, the series turns to portraiture, slower and full of light.

On 18 May 2022, the day after the opening of the 75th Cannes Film Festival, Jeremy Jakubowicz photographed Eva Longoria at the L’Oréal Paris dinner, the brand she has long represented. In a long orange gown with a plunging neckline, she turns back to the lens in the Cannes night: a direct, luminous portrait, the opposite of the Carlton shoot four years later.
That same evening, at the same dinner, he also photographed Elle Fanning and Katherine Langford; a few hours earlier, Tom Cruise had walked the red carpet for Top Gun: Maverick.
